San Antonio Trip Notes: Phoenix Airport

I can see two mountains out the window. These are the strangest-looking mountains I have ever seen. Each one looks like some kid picked up some clay, played with it extensively, then loosely mashed all the shapes he created together and smashed it down on the earth’s surface to play with something else. I could guess that they look vaguely volcanic, but that’s just a guess. They’re weird and unlike any mountains I’ve ever seen.

Also, the carpet in this airport is note-worthy. This is the first airport carpet I’ve seen that has airplanes on it. It’s kinda cool, very Escher-esque. Not the most original thing I’ve ever seen, but I’m somewhat surprised that other airports haven’t done something similar. The plane is an obvious motif for an airport, eh?

About The Original Kate

Along with artistic tendencies, Kate enjoys unusual people and is constantly striving for some sort of nonconformity. Kate offers a perspective that is thoughtful but well-written and full of images within the words. Other tidbits that might intrigue: she has very long auburn hair, and, you guessed it, her favorite color is orange.
