The Noises of Our Surroundings

The faucet in the bathroom on this floor is musical. It leaks, and every drip is a different note. It’s accompanied by a loud creak every time the door to the bathroom is opened. Highly amusing.

I’m reading in the newspaper about a criminal and his attempted robbery that led to a chase throughout town: “The drama unfolded at about noon on Thursday when Matthews knocked on a rear door of a house, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. When a man opened the door, Matthews pulled out a handgun and demanded the resident’s wallet, the sheriff’s department said. The man, who was unhurt, refused to comply and shut the door. Matthews ran from the house, jumped into a green Ford sedan driven by 34-year-old Debra Lee Jensen of Washington Terrace and sped off, the statement said. The homeowner called 911 and gave a good description of Matthews and the car.”

I love that. When someone knocks on your door and demands your wallet, just close the door and walk away.

About The Original Kate

Along with artistic tendencies, Kate enjoys unusual people and is constantly striving for some sort of nonconformity. Kate offers a perspective that is thoughtful but well-written and full of images within the words. Other tidbits that might intrigue: she has very long auburn hair, and, you guessed it, her favorite color is orange.
