In Honor of Curt-Curt: Chickenless Goat and Pineapple

Because I’m bored and don’t feel like starting the second Indiana Jones movie just yet, I’m going to post the song to which part of the title of my journal comes from. It’s a camp song, fun to sing while hiking. Complicated lyrics first, then the everyman translation, both to the same tune:
Indicate the route to my habitual abode.
I’m fatigued and desire to retire.
Had a little beverage sixty minutes ago,
And it went straight to my uppermost extremity (or cerebellum).
Wherever I may preambulate,
On terra firma or H2O,
You will always hear me crooning this rhapsody:
Indicate the route to my habitual abode.

Show me the way to go home.
I’m tired and I wanna go to bed.
I had a little drink about an hour ago,
And it went straight to my head.
Wherever I may roam,
On land or sea or foam,
You will always hear me singing this song.
Show me the way to go home.

About The Original Kate

Along with artistic tendencies, Kate enjoys unusual people and is constantly striving for some sort of nonconformity. Kate offers a perspective that is thoughtful but well-written and full of images within the words. Other tidbits that might intrigue: she has very long auburn hair, and, you guessed it, her favorite color is orange.
